Plogging Kenya in Achieving SDG 6 (Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all)
Plogging Kenya is involved in creating awareness on waste management and conducting clean-ups during its events. The waste has devastating impacts on our water, sanitation and hygiene.
We are in the process of rolling out a school program on waste management to various schools and also create awareness to the local communities. This will help achieve the following targets under SDG 6.
The provision of safe water, sanitation and hygienic conditions is essential to protecting human health during all infectious disease outbreaks. Ensuring good and consistently applied WASH and waste management practices in communities, homes, schools, marketplaces, prisons and health care facilities helps to prevent human-to-human transmission viruses and diseases.
Plogging Kenya is a youth initiative established in May 2019. Our main focus is to organize for out-door workouts (walking, jogging and cycling) while collecting waste along the trail for a cleaner and healthy environment.
