Advocacy and Capacity Building
Advocacy and Capacity Building
Plogging Kenya conducts capacity building programmes at community levels so as to empower the communities to be better placed to identify their capabilities and use those capabilities in identifying and solving their needs and priorities for their well being and the society at large. This entails instilling the idea of sustainable development in guaranteeing inter- and intra-generation equity with respect to meeting all basic needs.
Plogging Kenya in partnership with likeminded individuals and organizations carry out capacity building and advocacy programs with the primary waste pickers at the landfills and dumpsites.
Areas of interest include but not limited to;
- Drugs and substance abuse
- Safety measures while picking and segregating waste
- Investment opportunities and national subsidies to waste pickers
- Hygiene and sanitation
- Insurance policy and medical cover
